East Meets West
Designed for the House Beautiful Whole Home Concept House in Colorado, this kitchen has something for everyone in the family with style to spare. Featuring handmade stools and hardware, every detail was considered for this design. Handmade zellige tiles in fresh white and peacock blue offset rustic Alderwood cabinetry, and rather than selecting one type of hardware, five different designs were chosen, including brass and leather. The nearby farm-inspired batten-style panel fronts on the refrigeration wall, while the island, made of quartz and wenge wood, has plenty of space for grandparents to pull up and chop; additional under counter storage makes clean up easy for all. In the pantry, a built-in vacuum sealer (which slows the aging and oxidation of food) can be used for canning and preserving fruits, fish, and meats. Any food waste goes straight into the compost bin to help produce another harvest of healthy vegetables.
