Founded in 2008 by Sarah Robertson, Studio Dearborn is a kitchen design firm based in Westchester County, New York. During the twenty years she spent working as a builder of luxury homes, Sarah found herself obsessing over kitchens and how to optimize their efficiency. The lessons she learned as a builder and during her time in the corporate world inform her analytical approach to kitchen design.
Studio Dearborn is a boutique firm, with Sarah and her son Owen being the only two employees. This approach ensures that every aspect of each client's story is understood, and the result is a kitchen that could belong to no one else.

Sarah Robertson has spent nearly 20 years thinking about one room: the kitchen. As founder and principal of Studio Dearborn, she designs kitchens for real life—spaces that are beautiful to look at, exceptionally practical to live in, and full of thoughtful details, including the kind of creative storage that makes every inch count.
Sarah's work has been widely published and has attracted more than one million followers across social media. Her approach combines a designer's eye with a problem-solver's mind, shaped by an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, early experience as a management consultant at McKinsey, and eight years as a residential builder and developer. That mix of creative thinking and real-world construction experience informs the way she approaches every kitchen, from the big-picture layout to the smallest detail.
Over the years, Sarah has been fortunate to receive some of the kitchen industry's highest honors, but the compliment she treasures most is hearing from a client years after a renovation that they still love their kitchen. She shares her knowledge through speaking engagements, panel discussions, editorial contributions, consulting, and brand collaborations, and has built a highly engaged community around her practical, candid approach to kitchen design.
Sarah lives in Westchester County, New York, with her family, where she can often be found hunting for antiques, tending her garden, walking her corgis, planning her next trip, or rethinking a kitchen that was perfectly fine to begin with.

Owen is the second generation of the family at Studio Dearborn, joining the studio after graduating from the Honors College at Northeastern University to help grow the business his mother founded. His background in finance and strategy, spanning impact investing and investment banking, informs how he approaches the studio's growth and his long-term vision for its continuous success. Owen is the point person for brand partnerships but is also involved in every project the studio takes on, allowing him to sharpen his eye for design alongside Sarah.
